Shop the Spice Box

Our Story

It started with a drawer full of forgotten plastic.

Most spice boxes are disposable. They arrive bright and promising, then disappear into a drawer within a month — scratched, stained, and quietly replaced by the next one. We started The Eco Shop because we wanted something different in our own kitchen, and couldn't find it: a spice box worth keeping out on the counter.

Each piece is carved by hand from solid Neem wood, a material used across Northern India for centuries in cooking and medicine. We chose Neem because it is naturally resistant to moisture and bacteria, and because it doesn't stay the same — it develops a richer, deeper patina with every year of use. No two pieces are identical, because a person made them, not a machine. The grain, the weight, the finish — all slightly different, all deliberate.

We make in small batches. We don't rush the wood. And we design every box to outlast the drawer it might otherwise end up in.

Our Promise

Every box gives something back to the forest it came from.

We work with reforestation partners so that each order contributes to real, verified tree planting — not a vague promise, but something you can see and keep.

Tree Planted

For every spice box you order, we plant one tree through our reforestation partner.

Trackable Impact

You receive a unique tracking link so you can see where your tree was planted and follow its growth.

Certificate of Planting

A digital certificate of planting is emailed to you, referencing our partner organization and the region of your tree.

Kind Words

From the kitchens where it lives.

You can immediately tell this is solid craft. After six months of daily use in the kitchen, the wood has developed a rich, warm patina that looks even better than when it arrived. It feels so grounded and sturdy on the counter.

Gifted this for a housewarming and the packaging was completely plastic-free and ready to present. Knowing that a tree was planted with the purchase made a beautiful, sustainable gift feel even more meaningful.

I finally ditched our cheap plastic spice carousel for this. The difference in build quality and look is night and day—it actually makes our kitchen counter feel organized and warm instead of cluttered.
